The Prince’s Trust Team programme is a 12 week personal development programme for young adults aged between 16 and 25, who are not in education, employment or training. The course leads to a nationally recognised certificate and includes modules that help show evidence of the new skills that have been built up during the course.
Throughout the 12-weeks, participants on the course will work together as a group, in face-to-face sessions delivered by our trained instructors.
In order to support the young people to attend the programme, we can also free mini-bus transportation within certain areas of Northumberland.
During the course, participants will work on a series of modules, including:
-
Teamwork
-
Work Experience
-
Planning for Personal Development
-
Supporting others in the Community
-
Presentation Skills
-
Career Planning
-
Community Project
The teamwork module gives the group an opportunity to meet up and complete outdoor activities together, this can include canoeing, hiking and bouldering – all supported by fully qualified instructors.
For the work experience module, the group have the opportunity to spend two weeks applying their new skills and confidence in a workplace setting. Support is available to secure placements.
During the community project module, we work with different organisations who need help and support, the group come together to make a difference to a local community project. Previous projects have included re-decorating a local community centre, making and delivering promotional materials for a local charity and acting as ‘scares’ at a Halloween event!
